AVALON AIRPORT, 25 January 2020 | The first Citilink flight landed at Melbourne Avalon Airport today, launching a new low cost daily direct flight to Denpasar, Bali for Victorians.

In a move that gives Victorians more holiday choice, Indonesian low cost airline, Citilink Indonesia, will begin daily flights between Melbourne (Avalon) and Denpasar Bali from 24 January 2020.

MELBOURNE (AVALON), 5 December 2019 – AirAsia has marked its first anniversary of flying from Melbourne Avalon Airport by unveiling the future of travel with an international first for the airline in biometric technology.

Avalon Airport was thrilled to take out the Major Airport of the Year Award at the National Airport Industry Awards last night on the Gold Coast.

In yet another Australian first, Avalon Airport has had permanent approval to use its state of the art CT Scanner in the international terminal, leading to increased efficiency within international terminal security processes.

Avalon Airport is taking another step forward with its international operations, announcing today a new tie up with dominant Vietnamese new age airline Vietjet Air.

The Premier Daniel Andrews today toured Vietjet Air’s headquarters in Ho Chi Minh, together with Avalon Airport Executive Chairman David Fox and Sovico Group Chairman Dr Nguyen Thanh Hung.

AVALON AIRPORT, 5 December 2018 – AirAsia, the world's best low-cost airline has touched down at Melbourne Avalon Airport this morning, launching the first international services to and from Victoria's second airport in Melbourne's Southwest.

Avalon Airport today formally launched its new international terminal ahead of AirAsia flights commencing this week.

The new international terminal was officially opened by Senator the Hon. Marise Payne, Minister for Foreign Affairs and the Hon John Eren MP, Member for Lara.

AirAsia estimates around 500,000 international passengers will pass through Avalon Airport in the first year of operation.

Avalon Airport launched its Industrial Hub with the official opening of anchor tenant the Cotton On Group’s new national distribution centre today. The facility was opened by the Victorian Treasurer, Tim Pallas MP, and Assistant Minister for Social Services, Housing and Disability Services and Federal Member for Corangamite, the Hon Sarah Henderson MP.

Melbourne-based creative agency Grin Creative is launching a free quarterly travel magazine for Avalon Airport, to coincide with the airport’s new $38 million international terminal.
