The forecourt lies between the Domestic and the international terminals. It is the undercover space you cross after check in to reach the international terminal, and for passengers landing in Australia it is the space you come into after you’ve collected your luggage. It is a gallery, a place to relax, a place to find your feet. Grab a coffee, a snack, a piece of local treasure and take some time out before heading to your transport.
Tourism Refund Scheme Window - TRS
If you have items in your checked baggage that you would like to claim for TRS, please ensure before you check in your baggage that you cross to the TRS-branded window in the international terminal forecourt, and show the items to the officer so that you may be issued with a validation certificate. Then repack your items, ensuring you keep the receipt and validation certificate on your person, and check in as normal. You will present the validation certificate and receipts at the TRS desk after you pass through passport control.
If your TRS items are on you or in your on carry on luggage, then you only need to show items and receipts as you pass through passport control.
Keep your eye out for our Ambassadors in their blue vests and Avalon caps. These people will assist you with information about transport, the local area, or airport facilities. Multi lingual and imminently friendly, our Avalon Ambassadors will ensure you feel welcome.
