From 28 February until 5 March Avalon Airport will be abuzz with the Australian International Airshow 2017. A bi-annual event, the Airshow is a favourite for lovers of aviation, science, military history and technology.
It will be an awesome mix of daredevil aerobatics, historical aircraft and re-enactments, and the showcasing of the very latest aerospace technology.
Don’t miss World Gliding Champion John Gustafsson, Oris Tin Stix of Dynamite aerobatic team, Paul Bennett and Australia’s world famous SkyAces, one of two remaining Lockheed Constellations, the world’s last remaining Hudson Bomber – and so so SO much more. The full program has been released on the Airshow website – and it looks amazing!
At lunchtime on Sunday 5 March A/Prof Andrew Kornberg from the Royal Children's Hospital will take off on his mission FLY FOR THE KIDS. He is flying solo around Australia, raising money for the 2017 Good Friday Appeal.
And for lovers of music that soars, violin sensation Patrick Roberts will release his new single at the Airshow, with a performance of LEGACY.
If you’re driving to the Airshow make sure you leave the Princes Freeway at either the Lara exit (if coming from Geelong) or Point Wilson exit (if coming from Melbourne). The Airshow parking is well sign-posted and is separate to Avalon’s everyday parking.
And of course if you’re travelling in from Hobart, Adelaide, Sydney or the Gold Coast it’s so easy – catch a direct Jetstar flight to Avalon and land right into the heart of it all. Airshow shuttles meet each flight, getting you there as soon as you land.
