Anyone who has visited Avalon in the last couple of months has been aware of the new build at the airport - a more than 7000 square metre structure east of the domestic terminal that will soon house Avalon's international facilities.

AirAsia and Avalon Airport to commence international flights
MELBOURNE, 4 February 2018 – AirAsia and Avalon Airport announced today that AirAsia will move its Melbourne operations to Avalon Airport from Melbourne Airport, effective later this year.
AirAsia X Malaysia will operate twice daily flights as the first international carrier at the airport, making long-haul flying affordable for Melbourne and the Victorian region, and improving access to more than 130 destinations in Asia and beyond.
There’s a good reason South Australia is known as the Festival State. Most of the credit for the name can go to the city of Adelaide, which puts its festive spirit on display numerous times every year to celebrate food, drink, music, art, life, and good times in general.
