Rail Link project

On 3 May 2011, the Minister for Public Transport committed $3 million for the planning of a rail link to Avalon Airport. The planning study will involve detailed investigations into the technical, environmental, social and economic effects of any potential rail link.

The state government of Victoria is currently in the planning stage of the project which will build upon the existing rail link running past Avalon, implementing a spur running off this line directly into the Avalon Airport terminal.

The Avalon Airport Rail Link project will provide an efficient and affordable public transport service linking Avalon Airport to Geelong and Melbourne.
